Men's Outreach

Men’s Outreach provides encouragement to those with relatives and friends who are ICU patients. Each week, parishioners offer light snacks and, if needed, hospital meal cards to those in the waiting room. If requested, parishioners pray for patients and families in the waiting room, and during the week at St. Timothy’s services. Bibles and Scripture verses answering the question, “Who am I that God cares?” are placed in the waiting room, reinforced by the physical presence of strangers offering the love God to those in suffering situations.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Lonnie Couch.

Location:  Tuesday evenings at Intensive Care Waiting Room of St. Bernard’s Medical Center

Bible Study Classes for Retirement Homes

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”  These words from the book of Proverbs crystallize the purpose of the Retirement Center Bible Studies.  Residents join each week in a verse by verse study through the books of the Bible, sharing both their current discoveries and their life experiences as they apply the Scriptures through study and fellowship with each other.  If you are interested in participating, please contact Lonnie Couch.

Locations:   South Wind Heights:    2:30-3:30 p.m. weekly on Thursday

St. Bernard’s Village:   4:00-5:00 p.m. weekly on Thursday

Be the Match

"Be the Match" is an opportunity to bring a project into our community that has a worldwide impact.  Those working on this project put together donor packets and serve at community events to promote and encourage others to be a potential bone marrow match for those who, because of grave illness, must receive new marrow.  Our first event will be in conjunction with the St. Jude Super Bowl Party which is a fund raiser for St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  This hospital specializes in treating children with cancer at no cost to the family.

If you are interested in becoming a potential donor, all that is required is to fill out a form and take a swab of the inside of your cheek.  If you are interested in participating, please contact  Brenda Stainton.

Pray the Pews

Pray the Pews, a ministry of personal and individual prayer, applies the Scriptural admonitions to pray continually with simplicity, sincerity, and trust in God’s promises. Parishioners come each week to pray for those who participate presently as members or visitors in the parish, as well as for those whom God will bring in the future.  Pray the Pews takes place on Monday mornings at 10:30. If you are interested in participating, please contact Carol Couch.

Perpetual Food Drive

Parishioners are encouraged to continually think of those less fortunate.  In that mode, we have a food donation box in the fellowship hall.  Everyone is encouraged to bring nonperishable food and baby items or give money to support the Helping Hands Food Pantry.   If you are interested in giving or working at the pantry, please contact the Church Office.
